Future Developments
To ensure our buildings embrace the latest technology and developments in the building industry we are always on the look out to incorporate and integrate new viable technologies. As part of our job, we keep up to date with latest innovations and research and develop new ideas continually.
A few areas of our current research and development:
Solar Power
We would like to introduce the use of Solar Power to our studios and utilise the roof area of our buildings through the integration of photovoltaic panels to generate electricity. Our present investigations are looking at how to maximise efficiency on our flat roof configuration which at present isn’t the most effective and aesthetic way of arranging PV cells. We’re also looking to install PV to supply some of our energy for offices and factory.
Solar Heating
Implementing the latest advancements in solar heating panels to provide hot water can bring great benefit, not only to a garden room but the home as well. Solar heating can provide as much as 70% of the energy required in a home through capturing the heat given off from the sun.
High Performance Insulation
Our current use of rigid polyurethane insulation is the most economically viable product on the market with regards to its thermal properties and application. Other products such as Aerogel and VIP (Vacuum insulated panels) are slowly becoming more available and we are researching as to what will be the next high performance insulation.
Eco-Insulation
There is a large array of insulation products on the market from sheep’s wool to recycled paper and even organically grown fungus insulation. We are continually on the look out for viable yet sustainable insulation materials.
Environmentally Certified
To demonstrate our commitment through the use of responsible design and manufacturing we are continually working towards certification schemes to prove our eco credentials such as that of the FSC and PEFC accreditation schemes.
